Blizzard announced through a press release that the expansion Warlords of Draenor has sold 3.3 million copies in 24 hours, prompting the World of Warcraft subscriptions to more than 10 million.
By way of comparison, Blizzard announced in June this year to have 6.8 million subscribers, has September 30 rose to 7.4 because it was starting to notice boom Warlords of Draenor. This means that in just a month and a half World of Warcraft has won 2.6 million users.
Blizzard's challenge will be to keep the player base, as rising players at the start of an expansion is nothing new. With the release of Mists of Pandaria will also be able to reach 10 million, but this figure was falling as the expansion progressed.
The success of Warlords of Draenor has had very little effect desired, the collapse of the servers. When expansion was activated on November 13 servers did not withstand the load of players and gave way. When they came back online the title was unplayable because the lag made it impossible to have a satisfying experience. To a greater or lesser extent, the problems continued until last Monday that the situation stabilized and gave Blizzard announced that five days of play for the inconvenience.
The most immediate event which is open to players of World of Warcraft will be the tenth anniversary, which will take place from November 21 until January 6, 2015. As of December 3 will continue to expand with content the opening of the first band and the release of three world bosses.
